I RECENTLY visited the Immigration Department's headquarters in Presint 2, Putrajaya.
At the office I had to use the toilet at its second floor. As I approached the toilet, a foul stench hit me and I had to put on a mask I had with me.
Inside, it was shockingly filthy. If not for the pressing need to relieve myself, I would have postponed using the toilet.
Water was leaking, the commode was broken, and the shower pipe had no valve.
I have never seen such a filthy toilet. A bowl had been left unflushed.
I had expected a higher standard of cleanliness at a government building in Putrajaya.
The immigration department earns considerable revenue from fees and levies. It can easily allocate the required amount to repair, clean and maintain its washrooms.
I urge the authorities to look into this matter urgently.
